Mobile emission reduction
in marine & shipping

Our innovative technologies for emissions reduction can of course also be used in the midstream sector. Our mobile vapor combustion units are also ideally suited for the degassing of ships, tankers and inland waterway vessels. No matter what substances are being transported, our technologies ensure safe and environmentally-friendly emission treatment – efficient, sustainable and in accordance with TA-Luft.

In the Port of Duisburg, we have even created the first legal option in Germany for the environmentally-friendly degassing of ships on the Rhine. To this end, we have also initiated changes to the legal provisions in the ADN (international transport of dangerous goods on inland waterways) and in various committees. With our permanently stationed combustion chamber and a nitrogen vaporizer, we offer degassing and purging of inland waterway vessels, gas tankers and motor tankers on our premises in the Port of Duisburg directly on the Rhine.

Whether it is to prepare loading or unloading processes or to prepare the ships for maintenance or repairs in the shipyard – we are the right partner for emission reduction in shipping, marine and logistics! In combination with our mobile vapor combustion chambers, the mobile nitrogen vaporizer can of course also be used.

Areas of mobile emission reduction

Degassing of ships and inland vessels

Our mobile vapor combustion units are ideally suited for the degassing of ships, tankers and inland vessels and barges - cost- and time-efficient and environmentally-friendly. Our nitrogen vaporizer can also be used.

Degassing and cool cown of ships and vessels

In addition to degassing ships, tankers, barges and vessels, we can also carry out cool down projects so that the ships can be refilled with liquefied gases under pressure. This is particularly important for LNG tankers.

Examples of projects in the marine and shipping industry

Degassing of a LNG tanker

In the Port of Amsterdam, we have applied two mobile vapor combustion units to degas an LNG tanker to enable maintenace and repair works in the shipyard. To do this, the ship had to be gas-free and could no longer contain any LNG.

Degassing and cool down of a LNG tanker

After the work in the shipyard, we have degassed the LNG tanker in the Port of Amsterdam once again. To remove the nitrogen in the tanks, we also carried out a cool down operation with our mobile vaporizer.

Degassing a ship during loading

For one of our customers, we have carried out the degassing of a ship during the loading procedures with naphtha. The stationary VRU had failed, so our mobile vapor combustion chamber took over its tasks and the loading could continue without interference.

Degassing during ship loading

During an emergency project in Belgium, we have replaced the stationary Vapor Recovery Unit to treat emissions from the ship loading. Thus, the loading procedure did not have to be interrupted.

Degassing of an inland vessel

In the Port of Duisburg, we have degassed an inland waterway vessel loaded with butane in our permanent degassing site. Our mobile nitrogen vaporizer was also used for the degassing in preparation of maintenance.

Degassing a LNG tanker

We have carried out the degassing and cool down of LNG fuel tanks on a ship. Besides one of our mobile vapor combustion units, our mobile nitrogen vaporizer was also used to pre-cool the tank so that it could accommodate the LNG.
